The Artist

Watercolor and pastel artist Shelli DuBoff has been in the arts all her life.  The performing arts is where she started her career as an equity actress in regional theatre, performing off-Broadway, and singing in cabarets in NYC.

Through she enjoyed painting it wasn’t until the late nineties that she devoted herself to it full time.  Primarily self-taught, she has studied with excellent teachers including Charles Reed, Alex Powers, Paul Leveille, Robert Carsten and Anne Lindsay.

Her love of animals involved her in animal rescue where she helped set up a foster care program for needy dogs and cats at a local shelter.  Traveling extensively and living in Nigeria has given her the many subjects  seen in her paintings.

Today she resides in Vermont with her husband, dogs, cats horses and sheep.  She combines her joy of painting with her deep commitment to the animals she loves.

Her beautiful portraits  of people and animals  are in may private collections throughout New England including the permanent collection at the Bennington Center for the Arts.  Each year she accepts a limited number of portrait commissions.  Her original artwork can be seen at the gallery of the Bennington Arts Guild, and the Glass Fusion Arts Gallery.
